Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

kurz vor Beginn des Wintersemesters 2025/26 möchten wir Sie, Ihre Lehrenden und natürlich Ihre Studierenden gerne auf das PROMOS-Programm 2026 aufmerksam machen. Die erste von drei Bewerbungsfristen endet bereits am 1. November 2025.

„PROMOS bewegt!“ Das Stipendienprogramm wird vom Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienst (DAAD) aus Mitteln des BMFTR und von der RUB zusätzlich aus hochschuleigenen Mitteln finanziert. Bereits seit 2010 unterstützt und fördert das International Office mit PROMOS die internationale Mobilität der RUB-Studierenden. Im Rahmen der ersten Bewerbungsrunde für das Förderjahr 2026 können sich RUB-Studierende aller Fakultäten um ein Stipendium bewerben, die 2026 über ein RUB-Austauschprogramm des International Office oder der Fakultäten/Institute an einer internationalen Partnerhochschule der RUB studieren werden (außer in Erasmus-Programmländern). Außerdem vergibt das International Office PROMOS-Stipendien für Auslandspraktika (außer in Erasmus-Programmländern) und für Auslandsaufenthalte zur Anfertigung der Abschlussarbeit (auch in Erasmus-Programmländern).

Bitte geben Sie auch an Ihre Lehrenden die Information weiter, dass die RUB über das PROMOS-Programm neben Individualaufenthalten von Studierenden ebenfalls die Durchführung von Studienreisen fördert. Zwei weitere Antragsfristen für die Förderung von Studienreisen, die im Förderjahr 2026 stattfinden, sind am 1. März 2026 sowie am 1. Juni 2026. Bei Fragen beraten wir Sie gerne!

Dear Sir or Madam,

Shortly before the start of the winter semester 2025/26, we would like to draw your attention, as well as that of your teaching staff and, of course, your students, to the PROMOS program 2026. The first of three application deadlines is already on November 1, 2025.

“PROMOS bewegt!” – PROMOS moves. The scholarship program is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the BMFTR and additionally by RUB funds. The International Office has been supporting and promoting the international mobility of our RUB students with PROMOS since 2010. As part of the first application round for the 2026 funding year, RUB students from all departments who will be studying at an international RUB partner university in 2026 (except in Erasmus program countries) through an RUB exchange program organized by the International Office or a department/institute of Ruhr University Bochum can apply for a scholarship. In addition, the International Office awards scholarships for internships abroad (except in Erasmus program countries) and for stays abroad to write a final thesis (also in Erasmus program countries).

Please also inform your teaching staff that, in addition to individual student stays, the RUB PROMOS program supports field trips as well. For PROMOS funding of field trips organized by RUB teaching staff in the year 2026, there are two further application deadlines: March 1, 2026, and June 1, 2026.
